“All things must come to the soul from where it is planted.”  This quote by Saint Teresa of Avila reminds me of when I was young, in Kindergarten at Mary Immaculate. Mrs. Jones had taught us how we needed to help people in need. She cultivated our ideas and imagination into actions which helped our parish as well as our community.

Kindergarten past, first grade came and eventually came second grade. My brother, our friends and I did a bake sale to benefit tsunami victims. In third grade we did another bake sale for the One Campaign. When I joined Student Council we did a lot for our community for instance we sold Christmas tree’s for the Marc House. Going to a Catholic School teaches you about having morals and values.

Our parents send us here for a Catholic education. Here at Mary Immaculate we are quite like a big family. We learn so much from our teachers because through their selfless actions we learn how to help others like they do. At a Catholic School we learn how to give and we also learn that in so many ways you never think of, you receive. Every single teacher teaches us something different and when you think about them together they all add up.

This quote made me think that the roots on a tree are our Catholic religion, the tree trunk is our school, the branches are our amazing teachers and the leaves are us, the students. I don’t know what I would do without my school and my religion.
