TUITION

Tuition for May will be past due on May 10^th.  This is the last month to pay tuition for the 2011-2012 school year.  Don’t forget that if you have registered for the 2012-2013 school year, one Curriculum Fee per family needs to be paid by June 1^st to ensure a spot in next year’s program.

Thank you Bascom Grooms and your amazing crew.  Thank you parents for helping and bringing in water and Gatorade.  This fabulous event raised over $17,000.00 that goes towards operating the school!

Volunteer Brunch

The teachers are baking delicious quiches and bringing in fruit platters.  Mrs. Harris has ordered a special cake from “Amazing Cakes and Creations.” Your time spent volunteering at Mary Immaculate is invaluable.  Preparing lunches, running the snack room, coaching, Choir and Altar Serving help, organizing and running fundraising events, baking for bake sales and the list goes on and on.

Please join us for punch, a snack and a sweet treat at the Renewal Center next Friday, May 18^th at 9:30 a.m.  Come and sit down or just stop by for a treat!  We all thank you for doing so much. – you are our SHINING STARS!

There are only 100 yearbooks ordered.  There are only 12 left. If you wish to purchase a yearbook, stop in the office to pay on Wednesday.

PIZZA ORDER

No hot lunch on Thursday this week. The cafeteria will be closed. 

Pizza is available but most be ordered on Wednesday.  Remember to send a lunch if you do not order pizza.

Report cards for 2^nd Trimester come home today.

Congratulations to our 8^th Grade Confirmation Class!

Thursday – March 1 – The Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea – 7:00 p.m.

RED MASS

Archbishop Wenski will preside at the Red Mass, Friday, March 2^nd, at 12:00 noon.

Students in Grades 5 – 8 will attend. The Red Mass honors those who serve in the legal system.

There will be no 8:15 a.m. Mass on Friday, March 2^nd.

STANDARDIZED TESTING – GRADE 2 – 8

Please make sure your child does not miss school from March 5 through March 15.

Students in grades 2 – 8 will be taking the IOWA Tests.  They are important assessment tools.

Children need to get lots of rest, eat healthy and be on time!

SPRING BREAK

Spring Break begins on Friday, March 16^th, at 1:00 p.m.  There will be no After Care available.

School resumes on Monday, March 26^th.

REGISTRATION FOR 2012-2013

If you have not turned in your registration for the 2012-2013 school year, PLEASE do so.

It is hard to order textbooks, hire teachers and staff and make plans without knowing the number of students.  We hope to see everyone back, however, if your child is not planning to return, please let Ms. Cindy know.

FISH DINNER ON FRIDAY BY THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS – Season of Lent

All profits benefit Mary Immaculate.  Each week one or two classes sign up to supply baked goods and help with the dinner. Thank you to the classes who have already done their weeks. This week is Grade 3 and Grade 6.  The dinner is from 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.

TUITION ASSISTANCE MEETINGS FOR THE 2012-2013 SCHOOL YEAR

Just a reminder, all students at Mary Immaculate Star of the Sea School receive Financial Aid. The cost of educating each child this year was around $7,500.00.  The difference in tuition charged and the cost of educating each child is made up through generous donations, support from our parish and community, and extraordinary fund-raising efforts by YOU and YOUR FAMILIES.  Thank you!
